NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme

The NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme forms part of the mandate that the Leadership Academy must deliver on behalf of NHS England.

Programme Scope/Aims:

The NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS) is a national scheme with an annual intake of trainees and has been running since 1956. There have historically been 4 streams of the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme. 

  • General Management Training Scheme began 1956.
  • Finance Management Training Scheme began 1963.
  • Human Resources Management Training Scheme began 2004.
  • Informatics Management Training Scheme began 2009.

These have now been joined by two new streams, currently only available in London and the North East and Yorkshire.

  • Policy & Strategy Management Training Scheme began 2016.
  • Health Analysis Management Training Scheme began 2017.

Kashmira currently works on the award winning Graduate Management Training scheme within London to source future leaders of the NHS. When Kashmira isn’t at work her passion is for acting and dancing and is a professional dancer with training in Indian Classical, Indian Folk, Ballet, Jazz and many other styles.

Keith has worked for the London Leadership Academy (in all its guises) since July 2016, with a background in Human Resources acquired through working in the commercial; further and higher education; government; housing; hospitality; NHS and not-for-profit sectors.

Grace joins the Graduate Management Training Scheme in London with a varied background in Psychology and Human Resources. She has a keen interest in dynamic engagement with both individuals and organisations. Grace enjoys connecting with people and fostering new experiences.

GMTS Leadership Development Administrator

Dagmara has been directly involved in numerous administrative procedures, national data, healthcare policy and public health projects. In her spare time she is a photography enthusiast and avid cyclist, and has participated in various cross country cycling events.
