Coaching and Mentoring – Thematic Learning Session – Wellbeing

We would like to invite you to attend our thematic learning session for coaches and mentors to better understand Wellbeing in the workplace to support your clients and practice.

Recognising ways to protect and enhance the wellbeing of NHS staff is more crucial than ever. There is both a moral and business imperative to investigate evidence-informed ways to ensure that the NHS is consistently a great place to work, and to look after the wellbeing of our people, who look after others, often at the expense of their own personal wellbeing.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Understand what wellbeing is, how it is defined and measured
  • Describe how the drivers of wellbeing play out in the workplace
  • Explore how wellbeing is relevant to your area of work
  • Apply wellbeing findings to your coaching practice

The session will be delivered by Joanne Smithson – Head of Implementation & Learning, Local Government and Health Lead at What Works Centre for Wellbeing.

Joanne works to understand what local government, health organisations, communities, and individuals can do to increase wellbeing and effectively translate this into practice. She is an experienced policy professional and has led service improvement activity across local government; the voluntary and community sector; housing associations; and secondary care. Joanne is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management, has a Masters in Public Health, and an MBA from Durham University
