The NHS London Leadership Academy, in partnership with the National NHS Muslim Network are pleased to present two sessions (21 March 2023: 10-11am and 28 March 2023: 4-5pm) on supporting Muslim staff and colleagues during Ramadan.
Ramadan is a holy month within Islam and is mandatory for those who can fast. This session will provide insight on one of the pillars of Islam and help equip managers, leaders, and colleagues of Muslim staff with knowledge to support them.
Muslims makes up around 3% of the NHS workforce. Many Muslim colleagues will be balancing their commitment to Ramadan and integrating it into their everyday work. Ramadan is due to start (dependent on moon sighting) on the 22nd of March 2023 and lasts for 29/30 days.
This session will cover:
- Basic overview of Islam
- What is Ramadan?
- Challenges during Ramadan
- How to support your Muslim staff/colleagues
This session is open to all those who work in the NHS, in particular those who have Muslim staff they manage or those who have Muslim colleagues
This session will be held virtually.
