Unconscious Bias Training

“Unconscious bias is the attribution of particular qualities to a member of a certain group. There are many ways in which this bias can operate – and many ways it can influence decision-making (both positively, and negatively) without an individual’s awareness. As this is unconscious behaviour, people often refute its existence: as a consequence, it is often challenging to help people recognise they are employing bias.” – Brap

Unconscious bias is a natural, well-intended process. Our brain wants us to be as efficient as possible for us.

Results are dependent on people’s behaviours, which are determined by their external environment and their internal environment (their brain). The general approach to this session is be one that fosters curiosity as being in a curious state has been shown to be more effective than a judgemental one in effecting long term behaviour change.
