SUMMARY:Leadership Development: Emotional Intelligence in Leadership with Sera Johnston
DESCRIPTION:Emotional Intelligence in Leadership \nThursday 7th November 13.00-14.00 via Zoom \nTarget Audience: This opportunity is specifically for Coaches and Mentors on the London Coaching and Mentoring Hub. The webinar is designed for both newly appointed and experienced Leaders\, as well as People Managers. \nObjective \nEmotional Intelligence is the bedrock of great leadership. This Webinar will introduce the core principles of Emotional Intelligence and explore how this involves two parts – each as equally important to master in leadership – taking you from a good to a great leader.  A new picture of leadership skills has emerged that better accounts for leadership performance. Great leaders have the skills to manage their emotions well and influence the emotions of other people towards positive outcomes. \nKey areas covered: \n\nIntroduction to Emotional Intelligence\nComparing Emotional Intelligence Models\nWhy Emotional Intelligence (Emotional Capital) matters in leadership\nUnderstanding the importance of the ‘triple focus’ as a leader\nExplore the ten EI competencies\nOpportunity for Q&A\n\n  \nWhy attend? \nThere is much written about Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and has a long research history\, becoming popular in 1995 when Daniel Goleman wrote his bestselling book. \nFor ten years the research has told us that to be successful in our personal and professional lives we need Emotional Intelligence (EQ) In particular\, recent research has established clear links between specific emotional skills and outstanding leadership success. We know that having great leaders at every level of the organisation is key to attracting and importantly retaining talent. Emotional Capital is the most important source of competitive advantage in organisations today. \nThe concept of Emotional Capital represents a new and powerful approach to contemporary leadership. Emotions are involved with everything an organisation does. Emotions determine whether or not people will work well with you. The value of the positive morale\, engagement and commitment that lies in the heart of everyone connected with the organisation shows up in performance. \nLeaders high in emotional capital create value and influence through their capacity to identify with the emotional experience and aspirations of their people and build shared identities with them. They are able to establish trust\, understand people need to belong to a group and therefore establish effective teams. They create and communicate compelling visions\, develop a plan of action and lead their ability to inspire people to act together. \nLeaders must become masters of mood and lead organisations that excite\, energise and enthuse. \nFacilitator \nSera Johnston FInstCPD brings over 25 years in the training & development industry\, with 18 years in the NHS (11 years as a people manager) and previously in corporate settings\, crafting and honing her skills in team\, leadership and management development. \nAs a result of Sera’s extensive experience in the industry she was awarded Fellow with the Institute of CPD. \nAs a L&D Strategist\, trainer\, facilitator and CPD accredited coach\, Sera’s ability to understand and quickly identify underlining issues faced by organisations is matched by her unique approach in achieving results through collaborative working. Her drive to supporting leaders\, managers\, teams and organisations to evolve and thrive is in her DNA. Confronting challenges and toxic cultures to cultivate a thriving workplace environment\, in a positive intentional way that acknowledges existing issues within team dynamics and management approaches\, while equipping leaders and managers with the right skills at the right time to stand out authentically are Sera’s specialities. \nSera has worked with large NHS Trusts\, NHS England\, corporate organisations and is a coach\, mentor and facilitator with the NHS Leadership Academy. Her ethos is enabling change that is embedded in the workplace and not just delivered in the classroom\, by providing tailored solutions specific to the need rather than just the want. \nIn addition\, Sera is a three times International Bestselling Author\, Emotional Intelligence (ECR 360) Facilitator/trainer\, Master NLP Practitioner\, Coaching Supervisor\, Health Coach\, Transactional Analysis and currently completing a Trainers Certificate in Neurodiversity and Inclusion. She is a member of the Institute of CPD\, Association of NLP\, UKI Health Coaching Association and Association of Coaching. \nBooking Confirmations \nYour booking is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation email.
