SUMMARY:Leading and Developing Great Teams
DESCRIPTION:What impact does leadership style have on teams? What makes a high performing team? What role does diversity play in the team’s success? \nThe Leading and Developing Great Teams workshop will focus on how you lead yourself\, lead with other individuals and leading with others in teams. You will learn about your leadership style\, the characteristics of what makes an effective team and how to develop your next steps when working with your teams. \nThis workshop is deeply interactive\, experiential and reflective. It is aimed at anyone who is responsible for other staff – their motivation\, well-being\, productivity and contribution to a collective responsibility or team. \nExpected Outcomes and Objectives: \nHaving completed this workshop\, participants will: \n1. Be able to understand the value of diversity of all types within their teams. \n2. Understand their natural leadership style and the impact that it may have. \n3. Know that it is possible and desirable to be able to flex and adapt one’s style to different contexts and people and\, \n4. Have learnt some techniques for adapting and flexing one’s natural leadership style. \n5. Have learnt about the characteristics and behaviours of highly functioning teams and \n6. Have reflected on their own team using a tool that identifies strengths and areas for team development. \n7. Be able to distil their learning from the session and\, \n8. Convert this into clear aims and next steps for the use of the content of the session in their own professional context. \nWho is this session for: \nLeaders/managers of teams\, at all levels\, both clinical and non-clinical in health and care\, who are committed to building the performance of their teams. \nPlease note: Places are limited so please ensure that if you need to make cancellations you email london@leadershipacademy.nhs.uk.  in advance so that your place can be offered to someone else. We will send confirmation of your cancellation by email. Any DNA’s will be monitored and your future bookings may be rejected. \nFacilitators Bio: \n\n\n\nHeather Wicks is a founding Director of Connect Oxford\, a consultancy specialising in enabling change with individuals\, teams and organisations through coaching\, leadership development and organisational development. \nHeather’s belief is that everyone has the potential to define\, design and achieve their own success and her passion is working with others using a dynamic\, curious and action-orientated style to empower and equip them to do this.  Her approach is firmly grounded in an appreciation and recognition of strengths and what we already have as a foundation for growth\, rather than seeking out and identifying ‘deficiency’ and ‘weakness’. \nHer career is rooted in the NHS and she has worked in\, or with the NHS\, for over 30 years in a wide variety of ways ranging from an allied health professional (clinical eye specialist) to a Director of Strategy and Commissioning and she has gained a rounded and diverse experience of many aspects of providing and commissioning of health and care services. \nBook your place: \nSorry.
