SUMMARY:LGBT+ History Month - Service User involvement
DESCRIPTION:This February\, the Leadership Academy is partnering with MindOut\, a mental health charity dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT community. \nMindOut is very proud of the fact that our service users\, as current or former participants in our mental health and wellbeing services\, are key to our design-making and governance processes. This success hinges upon a clear & shared understanding of an asset-based approach and the principles of co-production\, which will be explored and discussed in detail in this 90-minute session. Delegates will explore service user involvement as a process by which people are able to become actively and genuinely involved in defining the issues of concern to them; in making decisions about factors that affect their lives; in formulating and implementing polices; in planning\, developing and delivering services\, and in taking action to achieve change. \n  \nAbout the trainer \n \nMadeline Davis (she/they) is an experienced equity\, diversity\, and inclusion trainer and advocate\, and has been working across trans liberation and service provision all her adult life\, having come out in 2014. Madeline started her activism within the National Union of Students and Oxford University Women’s Campaigns\, and ran the Oxford University trans student’s group\, where she was involved in setting university policy for trans people. They worked for MindOut as a Trans Mental Health Advocate and later as the Community Engagement Worker for three years\, in addition to being a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford (where they completed their MA)\, and the Institute for Development Studies. Madeline now works as the Data Coordinator for the Trans Learning Partnership\, translating service user data and research into policy and is taking a break from her PhD on trans experiences of suicide at the University of Brighton. She has delivered trans EDI training for eight years in a variety of settings for universities\, public bodies\, social groups and companies. Beyond employment\, Madeline is active in London queer and feminist activist circles and has a personal interest in leatherworking\, rock climbing and poetry.  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n \n LGBT+ History Month - Service User involvement 28th Feb 2023\n Please complete this form to book your place. \n \n Full Name:*Band*Email:*Telephone number:*Your current role:*Organisation*Region:*LondonSouth East EnglandEast of EnglandMidlandsNorth East EnglandNorth West EnglandOtherICS you are based in:*Please select the ICS you are based inNorth East LondonNorth West LondonNorth Central LondonSouth East LondonSouth West LondonNot ApplicablePlease indicate any additional requirements or comments i.e. disabilities
