SUMMARY:29.04.26 - Coaching and Mentoring EMCC CPD - Foundations of Transactional Analysis and how this can be used in coaching
DESCRIPTION:Target Audience: Foundation; practitioner \nWhat is this event about? \nTransactional Analysis (TA) is a set of theories which aim to simplify some very complex human experiences and relationship dynamics. Using TA as a map\, we can support our client to make sense of and navigate their experiences in new\, more resourceful ways\, ultimately aiming for a “healthy”\, Adult[1]to-Adult dynamic. This workshop looks at the central principle of TA: that we are all made up of parts and each of those parts have quite different ways of thinking\, feeling and behaving. When we can create awareness and understanding of this\, we can operate in more conscious\, choiceful “Adult” ways as coaches and as human beings\, we can be more self-aware and we can support our clients to do the same. In this workshop we will see how TA can help us to first become more aware and have more understanding of ourselves and others\, and then to see what might need to change in order to create more positive\, healthy\, resourceful relationships with ourselves and with others. \nWhat will it cover? \n\nOverview of TA\nThe Ego States (Parent\, Adult\, Child)\nChildhood patterns and territory\nAdult patterns and territory\nReactions vs Responses\nTransactions (how our Ego State influences the Ego State of others)\nUsing TA to support:\n*Self-Awareness of Coach\n*Contracting and Coach/Client Relationship\n*Navigating the clients Ego States\n*Psycho-education (sharing the models with clients)\n\nWhy should I attend? \nParticipants can expect to come away with an understanding of the different Ego States (parts of ourselves) and the different types of thinking / feeling / behaving generated by each. We will look at how this shows up for us as coaches and for our clients\, how this can create repetitive unhelpful patterns of beliefs and behaviour\, and how it can provide new insight\, perspectives and approaches in relationship dynamics\, conflict\, self-talk and communication. \nHow will it run? \nThe session will be a mixture of presentation (using a range of techniques)\, group discussion\, sharing of examples and exploration in small groups. \nLength: 3 hours (including a 15-minute break) \nDeliver Method:  Zoom \nMaximum Numbers: 30 \nWho will present? \nBronwyn Nash has been utilising TA models / theory in her coaching since 2014 and has shared the theories and models with 100’s of coachees as well as regularly teaching 2 day in-depth modules on TA in coaching for The Animas Centre for Coaching. Bronwyn has written articles introducing TA to coachees and uses the models to help people to recognise the different parts of their identity and the relationships they have with themselves and others. \nBooking Confirmations\nYour booking is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation email. Joining instructions will be sent as soon as your booking is confirmed. \nCancellations\nIf you do not attend without giving us 5 days’ notice a non-attendance fee will be charged according to our terms and conditions. \nTo make cancellations email london.coachingandmentoring@nhs.net will send confirmation of your cancellation by email. \nTHIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED \n\nYou can request a place on a waiting list by emailing london.coachingandmentoring@nhs.net

SUMMARY:30.04.26 Coaching and Mentoring CPD - Who We Are - How We Coach; Using Jung’s Archetypes to Enhance Self-Reflection
DESCRIPTION:!Please Note This Event is Now Full!\nTarget Audience:\nCoach/Mentor practitioner\, Senior Practitioner\, Master Practitioner \nWhat is this event about?\nTo enhance self-reflection of coaching or mentoring practice by using the lens of Jung’s archetypes. As coaches we are on a continuous path of personal self-discovery\, in service of our clients. \nArchetypes (explored in detail by the work of Carl Jung) are symbols\, patterns\, blueprints that occur all over the world in myths\, stories and films; we recognise them instantly\, yet we usually do this at the unconscious level.  They are patterns that we all have access to in our psyche: inner resources\, helpers that we can draw upon.  Examples include the Hero fighting fiercely for a cause\, the Outlaw breaking society’s rules and the Ruler reigning (justly or despotically) over their kingdom. \nWe are mostly unconscious of the fact that we have archetypes in our lives\, but once we gain conscious awareness of them then we gain more freedom and flexibility to tap into other archetypal energies and make choices. By bringing 12 common archetypes to conscious awareness we can then consider how and where we express or meet them in our coaching practice. \nWhat will it cover?\nKey Areas\n\nDiscover 12 of the most common archetypes;\nConsider how any or all of them show up in our personal coaching and mentoring practice;\nUse co-coaching discussions to identify what choices we may want to make as a result of our reflections;\nConsider next steps in our practice.\n\nWhy should I attend?\nOutcome\nWho we are (our identity\, values etc) informs how we coach and mentor; the greater our understanding of ourselves\, the more we can use that conscious awareness to enhance\, question and challenge our work as coaches. \nWho will present?\nAngela Blacklaw has been working with Jung’s archetypes since 2005\, teaches them to post-graduate coaching students\, and has been published in the Research in Teacher Education Journal on the use of archetypes in teaching songwriting. She also runs workshops in applying archetypes to personal growth and development. \nAngela is Director of two companies Leitmotif Learning Ltd and Primavera People Ltd). Following 20 years of supporting individual and organisational learning and change in the civil service\, latterly as Head of Talent Development in the Department of Health\, Angela has since worked as an associate for respected consultancies such as The Mind Gym\, Korn Ferry\, Ernst and Young where she is on the coaching register for the Senior Civil Service\, and the i-coach academy where she is a faculty member. She is also a member of the Faculty of the NHS Leadership Academy. \nTHIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED \n\nYou can request a place on a waiting list by emailing london.coachingandmentoring@nhs.net \n
