That will be followed by a review of learning\, and some action planning\, to apply the learning in our practice. \nWho will present?\nAndrew Scott is the author of Shifting Stories – how changing their stories can transform people. A freelance facilitator and coach for the last 35 years\, Andrew has worked with blue chip organisations ranging from Prudential to Procter & Gamble\, as well as several Universities and not-for-profit organisations.\nAndrew was prompted to write his book by an academic client\, who was intrigued and impressed by the approach he has developed\, and wanted to understand how it was similar to\, and also different from\, Narrative Coaching.\nA qualified and experienced coach and supervisor of coaches\, Andrew has used the approach outlined in the book on many occasions: largely successfully\, but also with some disappointing results\, which has further informed his understanding – indeed one chapter in the book is called ‘When It Doesn’t Work.’\nAndrew’s facilitation is characterised by alternating a clear and stimulating presentation style\, with a near-invisible ‘holding of the space’ when participants are co-creating their own learning. \nBooking Confirmations\nYour booking is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation email. SUMMARY:03.12.25 - Coaching and Mentoring CPD - Foundations of Transactional Analysis and how this can be used in coaching
DESCRIPTION:Target Audience: Foundation; practitioner \nWhat is this event about? \nTransactional Analysis (TA) is a set of theories which aim to simplify some very complex human experiences and relationship dynamics. Using TA as a map\, we can support our client to make sense of and navigate their experiences in new\, more resourceful ways\, ultimately aiming for a “healthy”\, Adult[1]to-Adult dynamic. This workshop looks at the central principle of TA: that we are all made up of parts and each of those parts have quite different ways of thinking\, feeling and behaving. When we can create awareness and understanding of this\, we can operate in more conscious\, choiceful “Adult” ways as coaches and as human beings\, we can be more self-aware and we can support our clients to do the same. In this workshop we will see how TA can help us to first become more aware and have more understanding of ourselves and others\, and then to see what might need to change in order to create more positive\, healthy\, resourceful relationships with ourselves and with others. \nWhat will it cover? \n\nOverview of TA\nThe Ego States (Parent\, Adult\, Child)\nChildhood patterns and territory\nAdult patterns and territory\nReactions vs Responses\nTransactions (how our Ego State influences the Ego State of others)\nUsing TA to support:\n*Self-Awareness of Coach\n*Contracting and Coach/Client Relationship\n*Navigating the clients Ego States\n*Psycho-education (sharing the models with clients)\n\nWhy should I attend? \nParticipants can expect to come away with an understanding of the different Ego States (parts of ourselves) and the different types of thinking / feeling / behaving generated by each. We will look at how this shows up for us as coaches and for our clients\, how this can create repetitive unhelpful patterns of beliefs and behaviour\, and how it can provide new insight\, perspectives and approaches in relationship dynamics\, conflict\, self-talk and communication. \nHow will it run? \nThe session will be a mixture of presentation (using a range of techniques)\, group discussion\, sharing of examples and exploration in small groups. \nLength: 3 hours (including a 15-minute break) \nDeliver Method:  Zoom \nMaximum Numbers: 30 \nWho will present? \nBronwyn Nash has been utilising TA models / theory in her coaching since 2014 and has shared the theories and models with 100’s of coachees as well as regularly teaching 2 day in-depth modules on TA in coaching for The Animas Centre for Coaching. Bronwyn has written articles introducing TA to coachees and uses the models to help people to recognise the different parts of their identity and the relationships they have with themselves and others. \nBooking Confirmations\nYour booking is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation email. Joining instructions will be sent as soon as your booking is confirmed. \nCancellations\nIf you do not attend without giving us 5 days’ notice a non-attendance fee will be charged according to our terms and conditions. \nTo make cancellations email london.coachingandmentoring@nhs.net will send confirmation of your cancellation by email. \n\n\n \n 03.12.25 - Coaching and Mentoring EMCC CPD - Foundations of Transactional Analysis\n Please complete this form to register for a place \n \n Full Name:*Please confirm you are registered as a coach or Mentor on the London Register*\n \n Yes\n In order to attend this event\, please note you must be a registered Coach or Mentor on the London Register.Email:*Telephone number:*Your current role:*Organisation*Region:*LondonSouth East EnglandEast of EnglandMidlandsNorth East EnglandNorth West EnglandOtherICS you are based in:*Please select the ICS you are based inNorth East LondonNorth West LondonNorth Central LondonSouth East LondonSouth West LondonNot ApplicableEqual OpportunitiesThe NHS London Leadership Academy (LLA) are committed to promoting equality and celebrating diversity in line with the Equality Act 2010.\n\nLLA collect and monitor protected characteristics data about participants who access leadership development opportunities to identify how well we are doing and remove barriers to awareness and access to leadership development interventions.BandPlease select from the following optionsNot applicableI do not wish to disclose2345678a8b8c8d9GenderPlease select from the following optionsMale (including trans man)Female (including trans woman)Non-BinaryOther (not listed)Not KnownI do not wish to discloseAgePlease select from the following options16-2021-2526-3031-3536-4041-4546-5051-5556-6061-6566-7071-75I do not wish to discloseI would describe my ethnic origin asPlease select from the following optionsWhite - BritishWhite - IrishWhite - Any other White backgroundMixed - White and Black CaribbeanMixed - White and Black AfricanMixed - White and AsianMixed - Any other mixed backgroundAsian or Asian British - IndianAsian or Asian British - PakistaniAsian or Asian British - BangladeshiAsian or Asian British - Any other Asian backgroundBlack or Black British - CaribbeanBlack or Black British - AfricanBlack or Black British - Any other Black backgroundOther Ethnic Groups - ChineseOther Ethnic Groups - Any other ethnic groupNot statedI do not wish to disclosePlease indicate your religion or beliefPlease select from the following optionsAtheismBuddhismChristianityHinduismIslamJainismJudaismSikhismOther Religion/Belief: I have a Religion/Belief not recorded on this listI have no religion/beliefI do not wish to disclose my religion/beliefPlease select the option which best describes your sexual orientationPlease select from the following optionsHeterosexual or StraightGay or LesbianBisexualOther sexual orientation not listedI do not wish to discloseDo you consider yourself to be disabledPlease select from the following optionsYesNoI do not wish to share this informationAny other comments:Please indicate any additional requirements or comments.
